A Family Marina

Mobjack Bay Marina has been a staple Chesapeake Bay stopping point for decades. Clean and quiet, it offers a restful respite from your travels. New owners Bill and Marisa Walpert are excited to bring this iconic marina up to date with modern upgrades. Read more about the Walperts in the article featured by the Gloucester-Mathews Gazette-Journal.

Mobjack Bay is tucked into the western shore of Chesapeake Bay in Mathews County, Virginia. It lies between the Rappahannock River on the north and the York River on the south.

What’s in a name? The earliest records of this part of the bay, dated in the 1600s, refer to the harbor as “Mock Jack Bay.” This name comes from the echoes across the open water, said to mock “Jack,” a name for a sailor.
